KING 1-1-6 Coloured

KING coloured Type N and Type S mortars are pre-mixed, pre-bagged, and specially designed for use when laying bricks, natural stones, concrete blocks and other masonry products. These mortars are generally composed of, but not limited to containing, Type GU Portland Cement, hydrated lime, an air-entraining agent, masonry sand with controlled grain size, and an Iron Oxide, a Carbon Oxide or pigment from other sources.

Concrete Blocks Indoor

The type of mortar to be used for installing concrete blocks indoors depends on the type of application. Since there will be no rainwater to manage, lime mortars are not necessary.

Interior Chimney

Since it takes less energy to manufacture lime than Portland Cement, it is always preferred from an environmental standpoint, to use a lime mortar.

Walls Built From 1975 to Today

Walls built between 1975 and today are generally constructed from a steel or wooden structure to which a masonry facade is attached. These walls are often built using a mortar containing masonry cement or a pure lime and Portland cement based mortar.

Retaining Walls

In addition to usually being exposed to de-icing salts, retaining walls, just like chimneys and parapets, are often exposed to elements such as wind and rain. Furthermore, they are exposed to a large number for freeze-thaw cycles without much protection.
