  • Participating in meetings, workshops, trainings, and be linked to other Sika packaging experts.
  • Observing and learning from experienced staff members and participate in coaching session.
  • Support implementation of global initiatives and best demonstrated examples on regional or local level in Asia Pacific.
  • Work out new packaging and packaging recycling concepts to contribute to our APAC sustainability targets.
  • Create and give presentations to get the buy-in from local, regional, or corporate management to implement new concepts and initiatives.
  • Connect with different offices and disciplines to understand their daily processes and goals and travel and meet them as required.
  • Close cooperation with suppliers and partners to drive innovation & sustainability on packaging.
  • Preparing documents and reports, drawing conclusions and propose measures and initiatives.
  • Calculate and analyze data, run tests and help implementing solutions.
  • Visit conferences, know and inform about upcoming packaging regulations and build your external expert network.
  • Drive harmonization of packaging solutions and standards within APAC.
  • Gaining knowledge of company policies, protocols, and processes.

Your expertise - Our strength

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in packaging engineering and a flair for project management and sustainability.
  • 2-5 years of working experience in relevant or similar capacity.
  • Confident and positive team player with eagerness to learn.
  • Passionate with a drive to succeed, and proactively launching initiatives.
  • Strong command of English, and excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent analytical, computational ability, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, including advanced Excel skills, SQL, and familiarity with BI tools. Comprehensive and advanced knowledge of MS Office, digital native.
  • Multicultural exposure and strong adaptability with desire for international travel.
  • The desire to grow and develop with a company on a long-term scale.

Going Beyond. Together.

During your 18 months traineeship, you’ll learn how to identify and apply important strategies and business processes. You’ll get to learn about our company’s functions and operations, and you’ll support our management team with daily tasks. Throughout, you will develop strong problem-solving, communication and people management skills. Additionally, you will participate in formal training courses.

This trainee program is designed to fast-track the development of high-potential young individuals and prepare them for future leadership positions within the Sika organization. Development components shall include: rotational assignments including cross country projects/training/seminars; mentorship to help navigate daily challenges; formal training sessions/ workshops/seminars to develop essential skills such as leadership, communication, problem-solving, and project management; Job rotation & project deployment to gain hands-on experience and apply the skills and knowledge in a practical setting; networking to expand professional connections; and opportunity to work and be coached by Sika Senior Managers.

What does the management trainee do?

Packagings are an important part of Sika’s products, representing our brand, attracting our customers to buy our product, enable ease of use, protecting our materials during transportation and from environmental influences and secure the shelf life of our products. Sika globally buys more than 200 ktons of packaging every year that is in most cases turning into waste after using the products. Recycling and sustainable packaging is gaining significant importance. That’s why we are looking for you to help us driving this interesting and multifaceted challenge and come up with sustainable and smart packaging solutions. You are actively supporting Sika on our sustainability net Zero journey and are involved in many aspects and disciplines of the company. As management trainee you are going to rotate to Sustainability, Research & Development, Marketing and Procurement to learn all company functions, policies, and staff duties. You contribute to strategic planning and help to evaluate levers and enable their implementation.
