SikaControl®-312 SE

STRENGTH-ENHANCING ADMIXTURE

SikaControl®-312 SE is a first generation strength enhancing and water reducing admixture used to improve the strength development of concrete. SikaControl®-312 SE is formulated to meet the requirements of ASTM C494/AASHTO M 194, Type S.

SikaControl®-312 SE improves strength development at an equal or reduced cement or cementitious content. SikaControl®-312 SE also provides the following benefits:
  • Potential for greater replacement of SCMs,
  • Improved cement hydration,
  • Improved workability and slump retention,
  • Minimal effect on setting characteristics,
  • Improved finishing characteristics,
  • Improved strength development at all ages allows for faster structural use of concrete,
  • Increased early strengths allow faster demolding and more efficient use of forms for precast producers,
  • Miniminized impact of inconsistencies related to raw materials by increasing strength.
  • SikaControl®-312 SE does not contain intentionally added chlorides.

Usage

SikaControl®-312 SE is designed for use in ready mix, precast/prestressed and drycast concrete applications. SikaControl®-312 SE can be used for production of SCC (Self-Consolidating Concrete), UHPC (Ultra-High Performance Concrete) as well as for production of conventional slump concrete. It is
effective in concrete containing Portland Limestone Cement (Type -L) and supplementary cementitious materials.

Shelf Life

Shelf life when stored in original packaging in dry warehouses conditions between 40°F and 80°F (5-27°C) is one year from the date of manufacture.

Storage Conditions

SikaControl®-312 SE should be stored above 20°F (-7°C). If frozen, thaw and agitate thoroughly to return to a normal state. Protect from direct sunlight.

Application

Application Information

Mixing

Measure the required quantity manually or by automated dispenser. Add SikaControl®-312 SE directly into the freshly mixed concrete, or as an integral material in the batching cycle. Do NOT mix with dry cement. SikaControl®-312 SE may be dispensed on-site directly prior to placement. Care must be taken to mix thoroughly. When used in combination with other admixtures dispense each admixture separately into the mix.

 

Compatibility: SikaControl®-312 SE can be used in combination with other Sika admixtures and can be successfully used in mix designs utilizing supplementary cementitious materials.
Consumption

Recommended Dosage

The typical dosage rate of SikaControl®-312 SE will vary between 130-1045 mL / 100 kg of cement or cementitious materials. Various factors will affect the dosage rates. For dosage rates outside of the typical range, please contact your local regional Sika office or Sika technical service department.

  

It is recommended to conduct trial mixes with the actual materials to determine the required dosage for optimum performance.

  

To the extent specialized materials (such as microsilica) are specified, extreme ambient project conditions are encountered, or other unusual project conditions require special consideration outside the recommended dosage, please contact your local regional Sika Representative prior to using the Sika admixture.
