SikaControl®-306 PerFin

Surface enhancing and air detraining admixture

SikaControl®-306 PerFin is a concrete admixture formulated to enhance finished concrete surfaces and/or reduce the air content of concrete. 

Concrete surface enhancement:
  • Improved aesthetics and uniformity of concrete without affecting setting times
  • Improved concrete durability
  • Reduced risk of concrete rejection due to surface quality related issues
  • Reduced labour required for surface patching
   Air content reduction: SikaControl®-306 PerFin can also be used for the purpose of reducing the total air content of concrete. In non-air entrained concrete mixes, SikaControl®-306 PerFin can be added to minimize undesired air content. In air entrained concrete mixes, SikaControl®-306 PerFin can be used two ways:
  • To reduce the total air content to meet the project requirements
  • May be used prior to the addition of a standard air entraining admixture
    SikaControl®-306 PerFin does not contain intentionally added chlorides.

Usage

SikaControl®-306 PerFin is recommended for use when concrete with minimum surface defects is required or whenever high architectural and aesthetic requirements are desired or a reduction of air content is needed.     SikaControl®-306 PerFin can be used for:
  • Structural concrete
  • Precast / prestress concrete
  • Architectural concrete with high aesthetic demands
  • Concrete with high requirements on surface quality

Shelf Life

1 year in original, unopened and undamaged packaging

Storage Conditions

Store dry at warehouse temperatures between 5 °C and 27 °C (40 °F and 80 °F). Protect from frost and direct sunlight. If frozen, the product is at risk of seperation and should not be used.

Application Information

Compatibility

SikaControl®-306 PerFin is compatible with the majority of Sika® admixtures and may be used in mixes containing supplementary cementitious materials such as slag or flyash. Contact your Sika Canada Technical Representative for questions related to product compatibility.

Note: Each admixture should be added separately to the mix and it is always recommended to verify actual performance by conducting trial batches.

DISPENSING

To achieve best performance, add SikaControl®-306 PerFin into the mixing water. It is also possible to add SikaControl®-306 PerFin directly to freshly mixed concrete in the concrete mixer at the end of the batching cycle. To achieve proper dispersion of SikaControl®-306 PerFin throughout the entire concrete volume, mixing time of minimum 90 seconds is recommended.

   
Consumption

Recommended Dosage

0.1–0.5 % by weight of cementitious material (100 to 500 mL /100 kg of cement). The effectiveness of SikaControl®-306 PerFin depends on concrete mix design, cleanness of form work and form release agent used.
