Sika ViscoFlow®-2050

EXTENDED WORKABILITY RETAINING ADMIXTURE

Sika ViscoFlow®-2050 is a workability retaining admixture which aids in attaining a flexible degree of slump retention without any retardation.

Various levels of workability retention can be achieved by adjusting the dosage rate of Sika ViscoFlow®-2050.
When used in combination with other Sika water reducing admixtures, Sika ViscoFlow®-2050 provides high range water reduction with greater workability retention and the superplasticizing action allows for the production of high slump/flow concrete that can typically be placed with minimal or no vibration even at an extremely low water/cementitious ratio.   Concrete produced with Sika ViscoFlow®-2050 typically maintains consistency and workability for longer periods and provides the following benefits:
  • Consistent and predictable slump life performance,
  • Reduced concrete stickiness allowing lower pumping pressures,
  • Improved finishability of concrete,
  • Minimal effect on setting times at lower dosage rates,
  • Minimizes or eliminates the need for concrete retempering.

Usage

Sika ViscoFlow®-2050 is designed to use in applications where a flexible slump retention is required over a prolonged period of time. Sika ViscoFlow®-2050 is designed for use in both ready mix and precast applications whenever extended workability, high plasticity, and increased early/ultimate strengths are required when combined with ViscoCrete HRWR's. Sika ViscoFlow®-2050 can be used for production of SCC (Self-Consolidating Concrete)as well as for production of conventional slump concrete.

Shelf Life

Shelf life when stored in original packaging in dry warehouse conditions between 5-27°C is one year from the date of manufacture.

Storage Conditions

Sika ViscoFlow®-2050 should be stored above 5°C. If frozen, thaw and agitate thoroughly to return to a normal state. Protect from direct sunlight.

Application Information

Mixing

The typical dosage rate of Sika ViscoFlow®-2050 will vary between 100-500 mL / 100 kg of cement or cementitious materials dependent upon type of cement used and desired slump retention. Various factors will affect the dosage rates.
It is recommended to conduct trial mixes with the actual materials to determine the required dosage for optimum performance. Dosage rates outside of the typical range may be used, please contact your local regional Sika Representative prior to using the Sika admixture.

Compatibility

Sika ViscoFlow®-2050 can be used in combination with other Sika admixtures and can be successfully used in mix designs utilizing supplementary cementitious materials. Sika ViscoFlow®-2050 should be always introduced after the water reducers.
Application steps

MIXING

Measure the required quantity manually or by automated dispenser. Add Sika Sika ViscoFlow®-2050 directly into the freshly mixed concrete, or as an
integral material in the batching cycle. Do NOT mix with dry cement. Sika Sika ViscoFlow®-2050 may be dispensed on-site directly prior to placement.
Care must be taken to mix thoroughly. When used in combination with other admixtures dispense each admixture separately into the mix.
