Usage
Sika® Aktivator-317 is a pre-treatment specifically developed for automotive glass replacement in the aftermarket. It can be applied at temperatures down to -5 °C without additional processing requirements. The wide specified application temperature range, combined with the short flash-off time, allows use in both mobile and in-house installation processes. Sika® Aktivator-317 may only be used by experienced professionals in automotive glass replacement applications.Advantages

IMPORTANT NOTE
Sika® Aktivator-317 reacts with moisture. In order to maintain product quality it is important to reseal the container with the inner plastic liner after use. Once the surface pretreatment operation is completed the cap has to be screwed on.
- Dispose of product approximately one (1) month after opening.
- Never dilute or mix Sika® Aktivator-317 with any other substances.
- Sika® Aktivator-317 must not be used for tooling/smoothing of products or as cleaning agent.
- If used on transparent or translucent substrates such as float glass, plastics, etc., an adequate UV protection is mandatory.
Application
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease, oil, dust and other contaminants.
Adhesion on substrates may be improved by adding or combining pre-treatment processes such as scuffing and cleaning prior the activator application.
Application
Ideal application and surface temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C.
Apply Sika® Aktivator-317 sparingly without wipe-off process. Moisten a clean and lint-free cloth or paper towel with Sika® Aktivator-317 and wipe bonding surfaces once ensuring the bond face has been treated.
Apply the Sika® Aktivator-317 to the glass in one direction while maintaining continuous contact. Finish just beyond the beginning point to ensure complete coverage of bond area.
Note: Consumption and method of application depends on the specific nature of the substrates.
