SAKRETE Concrete Expansion Joint replaces outdated asphalt and fibre expansion joints. Designed to help avoid cracking of slabs. Keeps concrete from expanding and pushing against existing walls and slabs.

Usage

Use wherever concrete expansion joints are applicable: slabs, drives, sidewalks, isolation joints and in all standard concrete construction such as highways, runways and parking garages.

What are the application steps of the SAKRETE Concrete Expansion Joint?
  1. Unroll and cut to length needed. One roll is 15.25 m (50 ft) long.
  2. Attach to adjacent material (i.e., existing concrete, block, brick) before pouring concrete. Attachment can be made with construction adhesive, nails, or staples. Make sure that the top of the expansion joint is at the top of the planned concrete pour.
  3. SAKRETE Concrete Expansion Joint comes with a built-in, tear-off strip. Place tear-off strip up if caulking is desired after concrete hardens. Place tear-off strip down if no caulking is planned.
  4. Pour concrete and finish. After concrete hardens, if tear off strip was placed up, remove strip and seal area with suitable caulking.
