SikaSwell® A

ACRYLIC-POLYMER-BASED RANGE OF SWELLABLE, JOINT SEALING PROFILES

SikaSwell® A is a specially formulated range of high-performance, swellable, acrylic profiles for the waterstopping of all kinds of construction joints. When in contact with water, or certain solutions, the profiles expand to form a compression seal, blocking the passage of water and liquids.

Shelf Life

12 months in original, unopened packaging.

Storage Conditions

Store at temperatures between 5 and 32 °C (41 and 89 °F). Condition product between 10 and 32 °C (50 and 89 °F) before using.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE QUALITY

The surface to which the SikaSwell® A profiles are to be installed must be sound, clean, dry, free from all surface contaminants.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All loose particles, release agents, laitance, paint, rust and other poorly adhering materials must be removed by suitable hand or mechanical preparation. Surfaces which are excessively rough tend to leak eventually. It is recommended to smooth rough areas with fresh concrete mortar.

CLEAN UP

Uncured adhesive material can be removed from equipment and tools using Sika® Urethane Thinner and Cleaner. Cured adhesive material can only be removed manually or mechanically.
