Redi-Plug®

In a disposable plastic pail, place approximately 1 part potable water followed by 3 to 3.5 parts of Redi-Plug. This is an approximate ratio. Therefore, it is recommended that you add sufficient water to form a solid ball. Mix quickly and thoroughly with a trowel.

Higher temperatures will accelerate the setting time and cooler temperatures will retard the setting time. Therefore, Redi-Plug is not recommended in temperatures below +10 °C (50 °F).

It is designed to be set within 30 seconds under normal job-site conditions.

All surfaces to be in contact with Redi-Plug must be free from dust, oil, grease, or any other foreign substances that may interfere with the bond of the material. Remove all delaminated or unsound concrete providing a roughened surface. Cracks or breaks in the concrete should be chiselled out in the shape of a “U” deeper than wider. Clean the area to be repaired with potable water, leaving the concrete saturated but free of standing water (SSD).

Once pliable, form into a ball and pack into the repair area without delay. Hold in place for 1 to 2 minutes, to ensure that full bond has taken place. Mix only what can be placed within a 10 to 15 second time limit, as the product will start to harden, especially in warm temperatures.

Curing is essential to optimize physical properties of Redi-Plug and minimize plastic shrinkage. Redi-Plug should be cured immediately after material has reached initial set, in accordance with ACI 308 “Guide to Curing Concrete.” Continuously moist cure for a minimum period of 7 days. Alternatively, moist cure for a minimum period of 24 hours and apply a curing compound that complies with ASTM C 309.

For concrete repairs that are under water, use Duro-Crete UW, which is specially designed for underwater applications.
