THREADED DRILL POINT FASTENER

Sarnafastener #14 is a threaded drill point fastener used within Sarnafil® and Sikaplan® roof systems to attach Sarnafil® S 327 Membrane, Sikaplan® Fastened Membrane or Sarnatherm® insulation, Sarnatherm roof boards, gypsum roof boards, or other Sika approved boards into structural concrete ((208.3 - 223.2 kg/m) 140 - 150 lb/ft), wood plank ((min. 3.81 cm) min. 1-1/2 in), or wood sheathing ((> 1.19 cm) > 15/32 in).

  • Deep threads for high pullout resistance.
  • Extra sharp spade point for quick installation in new or reroof applications.
  • In concrete applications, fastener may be reversed out of predrilled hole without damaging the deck.

Usage

Used in conjunction with Sarnadiscs, Sarnarail, Sarnabars, Sarnaplates, Sarnastop or Sikaplan® Disc for attachment direct to the roof deck.     Areas of Application

APPLICATION

The Sarnafastener #14 is fastened straight into the roof deck with a heavy-duty (4 amp minimum), variable speed (0 - 2500 rpm), reversible screwgun with a clutch release and a #3 Phillips drive bit. Sikaplan Fastener #14 must penetrate concrete* and wood plank roof decks by 25 mm (1 in) and the underside of wood sheathing roof decks by a 13 mm (1/2 in). Care must be taken not to damage the roof deck. Choose the correct fastener length and do not overdrive or underdrive the fastener. Pullout tests are required prior to job start when used with existing wood sheathing roof decks or structural concrete roof decks for technical evaluation.


*Pre-drill a 4.8 mm (3/16 in) pilot hole at least 13 mm (1/2 in) deeper than fastener embedment.
