Open Post Flashing
PREFABRICATED BOOT OPEN ALONG ONE SIDE
Open Post Flashing is 1.5 mm (60 mil) thick prefabricated boot open along one side to provide a simplified flashing solution for rooftop conduits and pipe penetrations when access is obstructed.

System information
System Structure
- Install insulation and deck sheet tight to the penetration. Secure deck sheet around the penetration according to Sika details. Securement shall be tight to the penetration so that the base plate of the Open Post Flashing will adequately cover the fasteners.
- Wrap the Open Post Flashing around the pipe with the vertical portion tight against the penetration.
- Mark the penetration at the top edge of the flashing and remove the prefabricated piece.
- Place sealant around the entire penetration at the mark.
- Wrap the Open Post Flashing around the pipe with the vertical portion tight against the penetration.
- Tack weld the back edge of the Open Post Flashing at the slit, being sure that tight contact is maintained between the flashing and the pipe.
- Heat weld the entire width of the vertical overlap.
- Pre-weld and finish weld the entire base plate to the deck sheet.
- Check all welds with a rounded screwdriver.
- Install a stainless steel hose clamp flush with the top of the flashing.
