Vapor Retarder Primer VC has a shelf life of up to 60 months in the original sealed container.

Store in a tightly closed container in a cool ventilated area. Store away from direct sunlight and open flame.

* The U.S. EPA considers the solvents in Vapor Retarder Primer VC as “exempt”, and therefore the product’s VOC content can be considered “0 g/l” and used in all jurisdictions operating under the EPA guidelines. At this time, the SCAQMD does not recognize the TBAc solvent as “exempt”, and therefore the primer’s VOC content is “240 g/l” when used in jurisdictions operating under their guidelines (e.g. specific counties in CA). Vapor Retarder Primer VC is eligible for credits in LEED or Green Globes projects.

The coverage rate will range from 0.2 – 0.4 L/m² (104 – 208 ft²/gal) on porous surfaces to 0.1 – 0.25 L/m² (166 – 416 ft²/gal) on non-porous surfaces.

All surfaces should be clean, dry, free of dirt, dust, debris, oils and other contaminants.

Vapor Retarder Primer VC must be mixed well before use. Do not dilute.

Apply the primer with a brush or roller and allow primer to dry completely before applying Sika’s self-adhered vapor retarder or Sarnafil G 476 SA waterproofing membrane. Install Sika’s self-adhered vapor retarder or Sarnafil G 476 SA on the same day as the application of Vapor Retarder Primer VC.
