Sarnafastener #15 XP

THREADED DRILL POINT FASTENER

Sarnafastener #15 XP is a threaded drill point fastener used within Sarnafil® and Sikaplan® roof systems to attach Sarnafil® S327 Membrane, Sikaplan® Fastened Membrane or Sarnatherm® insulation, Sarnatherm® roof boards, gypsum roof boards, or other Sika approved boards into roof decks.

Usage

Used in conjunction with Sarnadiscs, Sarnarail, Sarnabars, Sarnaplates or Sikaplan® Discs for attachment direct to steel decks of 1.02 - .51 mm (18 - 24 gauge), wood planks of 38 mm (1 - 1/2 in) minimum or wood sheating exceeding 12 mm (15/32 in).

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

APPLICATION

A Sarnafastener #15 XP is screwed straight into the roof deck with a heavy-duty (4 amp minimum), variable speed (0 - 2500 rpm), reversible screwgun with a clutch release and a #3 Phillips drive bit. The Sarnafastener #15 XP must penetrate steel and wooden plank roof decks by 25 mm (1 in) and the underside of plywood roof decks by 13 mm (1/2 in).

  

 

Care must be taken to not damage the roof deck. Choose the correct fastener length and do not overdrive or underdrive the fastener.

  

Note: Pullout tests are required prior to job start on existing wood sheating roof decks for technical evaluation.
