Vapor Retarder Primer TA

BLEND OF BITUMEN AND SOLVENTS

Vapor Retarder Primer TA is a blend of bitumen and solvents used on concrete decks prior to applying Sika’s torch-applied vapour retarders. The primer improves the adhesion of Sika’s torch-applied vapour retarders to the properly prepared and fully dry concrete surface. It is also used to prime concrete decks prior to the application of hot asphalt for Sika’s ply sheets.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Concrete surfaces should be clean, dry, free of dirt, dust, debris, oils and other contaminants. Old asphalt or other residue must be removed to the extent possible before priming in order to obtain acceptable membrane adhesion to the substrate.

MIXING

Vapor Retarder Primer TA must be mixed well before use. Do not dilute.

APPLICATION

Apply the primer with a brush or roller and allow primer to dry completely before applying Sika’s torch-applied vapour retarder or hot asphalt. Install Sika’s torch-applied vapour retarder or hot asphalt on the same day as the application of Vapor Retarder Primer TA.
