• All substrates must be dry, stable, sound and free of residues that can reduce adhesion such as dust, dirt, oil, grease, cement laitance, efflorescence or any contaminants or conditions that may affect adhesion or overall product performances.
• Weak surfaces should be removed. All cracks and holes should be similarly filled to prevent seepage. Repair with an appropriate Sika® repair material prior to priming and leveling. 
• The compressive strength of the concrete substrate should be at least 20 MPa (2 900 psi) at 28 days with a minimum tensile strength of 1.4 MPa (200 psi) at the time SikaLevel®-02 EZ Primer is applied.
• Plywood underlayments must be a Group 1 exterior grade plywood, Select (SEL) or Select Tight Face (SEL TF) CANPLY classified exterior grade plywood conforming to CSA-0121 standard for Douglas Fir (DFP).
• Moisture vapour emission rates of the substrate should comply and meet the requirements of the proposed floor covering. Consult the manufacturer of the final floor finish for recommendations.
• Cutback Adhesive: layers of water-soluble/resistant adhesives have to be mechanically removed. Old cutbacks can contain asbestos which is dangerous for the health so do not grind, sand or blast. Refer to the Resilient Floor Covering Institute’s publication “recommended work practice for removal of resilient floor coverings” for instruction.
• Moisture vapor emission rates of the substrate should comply and meet the requirements of the proposed floor covering. Please consult the manufacturer of the final floor finish for recommendations.
• Before overall installation begins, Sika® recommends the application of several small test patches to determine primer application requirements and the acceptability of final product performance.

Before applying, thoroughly stir the content. Ensure all solids are distributed throughout the dispersion and a uniform consistency is achieved.

• Apply SikaLevel®-02 EZ Primer (CA) undiluted with a 6 mm (¼ in) nap roller, working the material into the prepared substrate.
• Typically, one single application is required. Ponding of the primer on the surface must be avoided and puddles must be removed.
• Where temperatures exceed 30 °C (86 °F), refer to and follow ACI hot weather application and protection guidelines.
• Should colder conditions prevail ≥13 °C (55 °F) and rising, allow for at least 120 minutes of drying time. 
• In all cases, substrate temperature must be 3 °C (5.5 °F) above the measured dew point.

Clean tools in water immediately.
