WHAT'S THE SECRET OF A GOOD STAINT?
As with mineral paint, potassium silicate is used in the manufacture of mineral stain. Like mineral paints, mineral stains also adhere by creating a highly durable chemical bond with the mineral substrate. It should be noted that potassium silicate-based inorganic stains have a more fluid consistency.
To meet the specific requirements of each project, Sika offers a staining system comprising the SikaWall®-485 MS stain and the diluent SikaWall®-485 MS Dilution. The former can be used alone, concentrated, or in combination with SikaWall®-485 MS Dilution to create translucent patterns while maintaining the natural mineral character of the substrate.
